Ayla Santos

Hello everyone! My name is Ayla Santos and I am from Miami, Florida. I am currently a third-year Art History and Educational Sciences major minoring in philosophy, currently specializing in early childhood education. 

 

Before coming to the Univesity of Florida, I had decided on only declaring art history as my major with pursuining a minor in philiosophy in mind. However, the summer before I left for UF, I worked as a camp counselor and kindergarten tutor, and had the opportunity to help educators with the curriculum plans after camp, help create the literacy program at our school, and come up with different activities to give to my kindergardeners to make camp more stimulating and exciting for them. My experience working for that school radicalized my career and academic goals from there on out, and after my freshman year, I decided to declare educational sciences as my second major.
