Photoshop Project

For my photoshop project, I used text message bubbles to playfully describe the different types of figurative language commonly used in literature. I also made the text bubbles come out of the background, creating a slight white shadow. I used different colors throughout the infographic to capture the viewer's attention and used the rhythm of the floating text messages bubble to guide the reader's eyes, whether reading from the top down or vice versa. I used a bold font commonly used in children's posters or elementary school materials to make the content feel familiar to students. As a future educator, I want to learn to make captivating and engaging infographics that make the content at hand easy to absorb. Educational posters help students develop heuristics for certain topics or key terms that are critical to learn as curriculum progresses, and digital elements that don't work well together can make or break the poster. There are many creative digital platforms that exist that allow educators to create educational posters like this one, however, I felt using Photoshop was a very productive way to make this infographic as interesting and simple as it could be while still trying to teach, with the digital elements at play also contributing to the effectiveness of the poster.
