Digital Storytelling Project

My focus for my digital storytelling project were Hilma af Klint and Sonia Delaunay, two women artists from the early 20th century who's main interest was in modern abstraction. I used powtoon to create the video, and used digital elements such as animations, designs, and transitions. As an art history major, I felt it was important to recognize these women and their stories, as well as showing their mature productions at the pinnacle of their careers. As a practicing art historian, I've realized that most of the core courses I've taken in the field focus on primarily male artists and their contributions to the art world. There's usually a small section dedicated to women, but so many other artists go unrecognized. Hilma af Klint's and Delaunay's production are not widely spoken about, with very little scholarship existing on af Klint's earlier works, so I picked these two women as examples of highly talented and creative artists that made significant strides in early modern art.
